EOS 6D: Using HDR Mode

Like several other cameras in the EOS range, the EOS 6D allows you to produce HDR images in-camera. The camera will capture 3 images, one correctly exposed, one over-exposed and one under-exposed and from these will make a single JPEG image. Unlike the EOS 5D Mark III, the EOS 6D will not save the three constituent images. If you would like to have the three original images, shoot them separately as stand alone images adjusting the exposure yourself and then create your HDR file from them using Canon’s DPP software.

EOS 6D: HDR and RAW mode

If you are usually a RAW shooter, you may find that when trying to access the in-camera HDR settings for the EOS 6D, they are greyed out and cannot be set. The solution is to turn the camera into JPEG shooting as HDR mode cannot be set in either RAW or RAW+JPEG image quality modes.

EOS 6D: In-camera multiple exposures and DPP

When using the in-camera multiple exposure options on the EOS 6D to composite up to nine images into a single shot, you have two options for how the images are put together – Additive and Average. For most uses, these two options should suffice however if you want more control, or wish to change how the images are blended, Canon’s DPP software is the answer. With DPP the compositing tool will allow you to choose from five different blending options depending on your aim.

Several EOS cameras now offer the ability to shoot multiple exposures, where between two and nine images are merged into a single frame. If you try to set multiple exposures, but find the setting is greyed out in the menu, check your other camera settings first. If White Balance bracketing, Multishot Noise Reduction or the HDR mode are enabled, you will be unable to access the multiple exposure options. To solve it, disable the other settings first.

Pour info et éviter le grattage de cuir chevelu, ceci est nouveau mode issu d'une ancienne mode

Le mode multi-exposition permet de composer une image unique en utilisant de 2 à 9 photos. Superposition de plusieurs photos pour créer une seule nouvelle image d'inspiration artistique. C'est le boitier qui s'occupe de l'assemblage final
Technique directement issue de l'argentique ou l'on devait faire reculer la pellicule pour la replacer au même endroit et superposer une nouvelle image
